For many vacationers, Disney World shopping is probably one of the biggest attractions at Walt Disney world, outside of the parks.  From the large stores in Downtown Disney, including the massive Virgin Megastore, and World of Disney to the small shops stocked with goods from various countries of the world in Epcot's World Showcase, Walt Disney World shopping has something for everyone.

Whilst many of the stores in Walt Disney World are stocked to the brim with the usual Disney souvenirs, there are also some unusual shops containing interesting items.  Click the links below for details on the Disney shopping experience in various parts of Disney World, or read on to find out about some of the unmissable purchases you can make on your vacation. 

Disney World Shopping - Great Buys

Disney World Shopping for Kids 

If it's your first trip to Walt Disney World, and you're travelling with young children, they will want a Disney Autograph book and pen (remember to get them a thick pen, as the characters struggle to write with the thin ones).  These are available in the shops at all Disney resort hotels, and at stores and stands throughout the parks.

Your next item on your shopping list may be an Epcot Passport, which can be purchased in any of the World Showcase shops.  These are brilliant, as kids really enjoy visiting the different World Showcase countries to get their passport stamped.  The only problem is, that if you have more than one child, the cost of the autograph books and the Epcot Passport's can be astronomical.  I found a real money saver that you can buy before your Walt Disney World Vacation.  It is the Disney Autograph and Sticker Book

Now that you've kept the kids happy for a while, what about some Disney shopping for the adults?  A great place to stop by in Epcot is the France pavillion in Epcot where you can sample and purchase some great vintage wines, or wonderful Guerlain perfume.

Another great buy in the World Showcase is one of the lovely rugs in the Mexico pavillion.  They have designs in every single colour imaginable, and many of the rugs will easily fit into your suitcase, but remember that Disney offers worldwide shipping on all items that you purchase in Walt Disney World.  In comparison to many shops in Walt Disney World, some of the items in the Mexico pavillion are also very reasonably priced.

If you're an outdoors type of person, you'll find some great clothing in the Norway pavillion in the World Showcase.  The Helly Hansen footwear is especially good, but it certainly isn't cheap.  Whilst you're in the Norway pavillion, do try a sample of Laila, the wonderful Norwegian perfume.  It is also sold in Disney's Grand Floridian Resort.

Disney World shopping is much the same at many of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels, with the usual Disney souvenirs and food stuffs.  Although, the Disney's Grand Floridian Resort does have some nice, but quite pricey clothing shops that are worth checking out if you feel like splurging.  However, there are still some cool purchases to be made in some of the Disney hotels.  For example, the Wilderness Lodge Resort has some wonderful carved bears.  Some of them are huge, and extremely heavy, but if you don't want to go to the expense of having them shipped to your home, they also do some small picture frames in the same theme range. 

The Contemporary resort also has a shop which sells some great Disney cookware. and we always manage to pick up a couple of items on each trip.  If like us, you like to have a few Disney items in your kitchen, you should check out this  great Disney toaster which I got reduced in the sale from $49.99 to $18.99.    It's absolutely wonderful and it even prints cute Mickey shaped faces on your toast.

Disney World Shopping for Honeymooners

If you're on your honeymoon in Walt Disney World, your first shopping stop may be to buy some Mickey and Minnie Wedding Ears.  The Mickey ears are perched on top of a small bowler hat and the Minney wedding ears have a veil.  You can buy these in many of the Disney World Resort shops and theme park shops.  We wore these on our honeymoon trip and hundreds of people congratulated us as we passed them by.

Another great Disney honeymoon souvenir which we found on our trip was a beautiful musical Mickey and Minnie snowglobe.  We got this at the store at the Boardwalk Inn.  If you do purchase one of these be careful though, the packaging is very bulky, and we had to buy another Disney carry case, just to take it home.

Remember, if you've gone a little over the top with your Walt Disney World shopping, and you're staying in a Disney Hotel, you can always have your shopping delivered to the resort.
